Growing up on the family vineyard, I’ve come to know and appreciate wine in a unique way. I’ve also noticed that wine culture can be intimidating and sometimes even pretentious. Given this disconnect between reality and perception I wanted to demystify the wine experience so that more people could enjoy all it has to offer. With this in mind, I set out to produce a film called Wine Ways! Creating a film around my true passion has been both enjoyable and rewarding. What began as an idea to introduce people to the culture of wine has become something greater, something that captures the collective wisdom of a few iconic individuals from the entertainment business and the food and wine industry. In 2005, I helped to launch Confidential, a hip, loft-style lounge-restaurant situated right in the heart of San Diego’s Historic Gaslamp Quarter. The restaurant features an award-winning upscale bar menu, specializing in eclectic global fusion small plate cuisine, cutting-edge cocktails and, naturally, great wines from boutique wineries throughout the world.
As the Sales and Marketing Director of Firestone Family Estates, I work closely with my brother Adam to ensure the continued success of the family business. Now in its third generation, leveraging years of experience and the benefits of technology, Firestone Family Estates is producing some of California’s best estate wines.
